Tiago Guimarães is an Invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Minho.

He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Medical Informatics, with a focus on enhancing the veracity and value of data within healthcare data flows.

His research delves into emerging technologies and methodologies in Interoperability, Data Science, Open Data, and Blockchain. His work aims at improving the accuracy, usability, and security of healthcare data, while also supporting the development of Effective Clinical Decision Support Systems.

He is a Research Collaborator and member of the IDS R&D Group at ALGORITMI Centre.
